Troubleshooting LF2001, LF2008, LF2001CS LeakFinder Dye Application Dilution Ratio for Trucks and Large Vehicles

LeakFinder LF2001, LF2008, and LF2001CS Oil-Based UV Leak Detection Dyes are the perfect tool for diagnosing leaks in engine oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, hydraulic fluid, and more. But in larger vehicles – such as trucks and heavy-duty vehicles – the fluid reservoirs are typically bigger and contain more oil-based fluid than a standard passenger vehicle. When these bigger systems are being treated with fluorescent leak detection dye, more dye may be required to activate the fluorescent response effectively. Learn how to use the correct application dilution ratio in larger vehicle systems in the troubleshooting instructions below.

Aftermarket Leak Detection Applications

LeakFinder® SOLO-SHOT™ Leak Detection Kit for Automotive Air Conditioning Systems

WESTBURY, NY— The LeakFinder® SOLO-SHOT™ Single-Use Syringe Universal A/C Leak Detection Kit (LF040CS) provides quality leak detection for all automotive air conditioning systems using R-134a, R-1234yf, or other widely used refrigerants. This kit utilizes fluorescent leak detection dye technology to pinpoint the exact source of all system leaks. Once the dye is added to the system, it circulates throughout and then exits at all leaks sites. When the escaping dye is exposed to high-intensity light, it fluoresces brilliantly and identifies all system leaks.

Proactive Versus Reactive Maintenance

Catching Problems Early Proactive maintenance helps technicians get ahead of potential vehicle breakdowns. There are scheduled dates for inspection and the maintenance of critical parts. Critical parts such as the transmission system, braking system, steering and suspension systems, wheels, tires, the exhaust system, the electrical system, belts and hoses, and other critical parts are inspected…
